The Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate (EAS) has requested that ARC shares with its members details of a joint webinar EAS is delivering with the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) and HMRC’s National Minimum Wage Team on Wednesday 15 December from 2pm to 3pm

The webinar is titled: Protecting your workers and your business – a joint webinar from GLAA, EAS and HMRCs National Minimum Wage team

The webinar will cover some of the most important aspects in protecting workers from exploitation and ensuring they are being paid correctly. We will also look at what employers can do to ensure they are getting things right by looking at some of the more common mistakes we have found when inspecting agencies. In particular, the webinar will focus on the lessons learned from Operation Fort, the UK largest anti-slavery prosecution. The Operation Fort case involved a member of an organised crime group infiltrating a recruitment agency as a recruiter for the purpose of finding work for the group of people they were exploiting.

Attendees will be pointed in the direction of further information and online resources, and have the chance to ask questions to the subject matter experts.
