Many recruitment agencies think that they are exempt from the Modern Slavery Act becauModern Slavery Actse their annual turnover is less than £36m.

However, the Modern Slavery (Transparency in Supply Chains) Bill will force public sector organisations to exclude businesses, including recruitment agencies, without a published Slavery and Human Trafficking statement (SHT) from their supply chains.
