It’s hard to believe that 5 years have passed since Key Information Documents (KiDs) came into being. Yet the measure still causes some controversy and is believed to be the most common area of non compliance found by the EAS on its agency inspections. Why is this?
To pin down the answer and assess what change could potentially be made, the DBT is now undertaking another review, this time using a survey created by Jobs Aware, and it has asked ARC to get some more up to date feedback.
ARC has consistently raised various fairly obvious issues with DBT. These are around the administrative burdens, reliance on third party information, and most commonly the timing for issuing the KID to agency workers which many believe is too early in the work finding and placement process.

You can access the survey through this link HERE. JobsAware is hoping to seek views from agency workers and contractors themselves, which it will use to inform its conclusions. You may feel it’s appropriate therefore to circulate the survey to your contractors and agency workers.
What next
DBT will consider the feedback, and its review which should be completed by the end of the year. It seems unlikely that KIDs will be scrapped altogether.
