ARC is delighted to announce a host of new members across a range of different sectors and sizes.

Commenting on this Adrian Marlowe, chairman of the Association of Recruitment Consultancies (ARC) said “We are delighted to have seen an increase in the number of new members joining the Association recently and welcome all. Looking at our new joiners, it is clear that ARC has broad appeal and is meeting the needs of start-ups and large corporations alike. I am particularly pleased that the increase in membership coincides at a time when ARC has been taking a more proactive stance on issues such as the new IR35 rules and the Apprenticeship Levy. Supply and contract recruiters in particular need a supportive legislative platform, which these two measures patently are not.  Our call for the industry to speak with one voice reflects this, and to achieve a genuine joint and coordinated approach for agencies we must exclude any conflicting interests – something which we at ARC can deliver.”

Marlowe’s views are borne out by Mark Bull, CEO of Randstad UK and Middle East, which is the latest recruiter to join ARC. “We joined ARC because of its more assertive legal stance.” Bull went onto say “We agree that the recruitment industry needs to speak with one voice if it’s to get us to the government table to help shape legislation in advance”.

With 59,000 workers on supply at any one time, the Randstad Group comprises of eleven different companies operating in the UK and globally across a significant range of sectors.

Similarly, Gethin Roberts, MD of the driving agency Drivers Direct said “On listening to Adrian Marlowe, Chairman of ARC at a recent presentation, I realised that his and ARC’s objectives and values were similar to our own. After research, I was impressed with what I found and decided that we should not only join but also actively support their campaigns to be a strong voice for the recruitment industry.”

Gez Parker, MD of Education Supply Pool, a teacher supply agency based in south Wales that believes in creating a fresh approach towards teaching recruitment by learning and working together said, “As our recruitment business continues to grow we felt that we needed to be associated with a professional trade body that could support us, as an SME, as we expand. After reviewing other trade bodies, we decided to affiliate our business with ARC; this was based on industry recommendations as well as their ability to work across the board with SME and national recruitment consultancies.”

Jawad Malik, MD of M2 Educators, a start-up recruitment company based in the West Midlands said “As a company that believes in giving opportunities to the most talented teachers from around the globe, we were looking to affiliate to a recognised professional body. Having looked at a number of trade associations, we felt ARC best suited our current and future needs.”
