Gethin Roberts

Gethin Roberts founded Drivers Direct in 2002.  Since this time he has held the position of Managing Director, where he is responsible for the business’ strategy and continued growth.  In the last year alone, the company has increased turnover by more than 20% to £20m.

Gethin has more than 30 years experience in the driving industry which has included time as a driver for the Royal Air Force, where he achieved a Certificate of Professional Competence, as well as senior roles with the Royal Mail. Prior to founding Drivers Direct, Gethin was Head of the Driving Division at Blue Arrow, one of the UK’s leading recruitment agencies.

Gethin is on the Driver Executive for the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) and contributes to the Institute of Logistics’s Transport Managers Forum.  In summer 2015, Drivers Direct launched a new logistics division to further enhance the service it offers its clients and as a step towards providing a complete logistics solution of vehicles and LGV drivers.

Drivers Direct covers all driver classes, from chauffeurs and fork lift driver’s right through to LGV Class 1 and 2 drivers, supplies more than 1000 drivers a week to clients from across the public and private sectors.  The company currently has a network of 22 branches across the UK.
