Campaigns to Support Recruitment Agencies

Campaigning for a fair and supportive legislative platform

Recruitment agency support

Recruitment, particularly agency worker and contractor supply, has significantly evolved over the last two decades and is a fundamental part of our socio economic makeup in the UK.

However many anomalies and conflicts exist in the current legal platform. For example recruitment agency workers can still claim employment rights against hirers despite having their own agency worker rights, and temporary work is seen as exploitative both in terms of employment rights and tax avoidance.

ARC believes that government across all sectors should take a joined up, supportive and knowledgeable approach leading to legislation that properly address these anomalies. To achieve this the recruitment industry should speak with a determined, united and single voice.

ARC supports recruitment agencies by championing campaigns on the big issues facing the industry. All ARC campaigns are linked to improving the operating landscape. Our post Brexit Manifesto 2016 summaries the need for action, and encompasses our primary current campaigns including calls for changes to the IR35 Public Sector rules and the Apprenticeship Levy both of which applied from April 2017. Our Manifesto remains alive and will be pursued in search of the goal to encourage joined up thinking on tax and employment status issues and to simplify the rules, making them suitable for the future of the UK economy.
